My Own Passions that I'll be Living For

Our life is just temporary so we must make it worth living. How? For me, pursuing those important things in your life is what makes your life worth living. We have our missions here on Earth to accomplish, but do we know what it is? I have heard a talk from a church I have visited once and there she said that, we must have our own legacy in this world. We must leave our own marks and in that way, we have done what God wanted us to be.

Well I’ve got to say that Bertrand Russell had made his life worth living by sharing the three things that affected him throughout his life in his work “Three Passions I Have Lived For”. Wherein he first sought for love, then after that, he sought for knowledge that made him cloud nine because he forgets his loneliness with love and knowledge and believes that there’s hope to everything, ready to depart, but then, he realized the suffering of the real world. About my own passions in life, I can say that mine are family, strength and the urge to help others. First is family. Why? Because from the beginning, they already served as your armor, and till the end, they won’t be leaving you. They will forever support you and always believe that despite all the struggles you’re facing, you can do it. My second passion in life is strength. As I have watched the movie Life of Pi, it is said there that life’s true opponent is fear. That fear is the thing that can defeat life. So for me, it is very important for each of us to keep ourselves strong. That after the challenges we’ll encounter, chin up and smile. Believe that you’ll surpass everything and that you’re strong. Even the word itself is very powerful. Strength is a powerful thing and we must embrace that for us to continue living a positive life. But then after having our own pleasures in life, at the end of the day, we must not forget that we need to serve others as well. This is my third passion, helping others even in the simplest way, that can make a difference. Because, just by seeing a person smile and feel light after you have helped them makes me wonder that,’ I really am blessed. I’m not struggling as much as this one does’, it makes me want to capture those picture perfect smiles that this person is showing. And even though he is suffering, still, he never gives up.

My passions in life might be different from Bertrand Russell’s but I believe that, no matter how different it is from others, as long as it is a service to mankind, it’s alright. We’ll never know, maybe the passions we possess will be our legacy in our future. We just have to make every day worthwhile, you must be dedicated with what you do and give your whole heart to it. And lastly, never end your day without thanking God, He is the reason for everything and in return, the least thing you can do is communicate with Him, because God made you an instrument to help others and no matter how tough life could be, He is always there to guide and lead you.

Are there any significant experiences you have had or accomplishments you have realized that have helped to define you as a person?

“Your experiences will mold yourself and help you become a much better person”, I really believe in this quote. The experiences I have encountered helped me to find myself more and helped me to become a much better person than I was before. This is God’s purpose, for us to live not only to be His instrument, but also to live life to the utmost and learn from our experiences we’ll face. These experiences are up to you whether you’ll take it as a burden or think of it as a challenge, in order for you to become a better person.
In my 16 years of existence, I have already learned a lot from my experiences. But I would not say that these are already enough, because I know, that for every tomorrow, new obstacles, life lessons and experiences are waiting for me to face. One experience that I can’t really forget that helped me define myself as a person happened back when I was in elementary, still. I was just a new student in this particular school when I was in 3rd Grade. I had no friends, no one to talk to, and still adjusting myself to the new environment I was brought up to. I really was a wallflower back then. I won’t talk to anyone unless they’d be asking me questions. But as days passed by, I learned not to be anti-social anymore. I tried my best to gain friends, which happened swiftly and most of all, I pushed my own limits to be on top. I worked hard, studied and focused on my goal, prayed to God to guide me always and He did answer my prayers. At the end of the school year, my parents were very proud of me when I achieved 2nd Honors that time. Not only that, I also received Conduct awardee, Best in Christian Living and Best in English as well. That was, I think the first time I really felt proud of myself and with that experience, it served as my inspiration for me to do my best at any time possible. Now, I’m currently a scholar under the DOST program and I’m very proud to say that I have maintained my scholarship until the end of my high school. Another experience that had a great impact on me in becoming a better me is when I was in my Junior High. Our batch had a contest on Speech Choir in celebration of the English Month. Since we were the so called “model section”, we were encouraged to join this specific competition. At first, we had no care at all on when to practice, what to prepare and most especially on memorizing the piece given. Not until the time where we started practicing at one of our classmate’s church. You know, the moment we entered there, we already felt God’s presence and it was the first time that we had a peaceful meeting and started taking our practices seriously. We always pray before and after our practices, we even had cell groups whenever there’s still time available, of course we make time because it is He. Then the moment of the contest had arrived, there were a lot of contestants who participated and the juniors, together with the seniors were already combined to be competitors for Speech Choir. We were not expecting for us to win, since the 4th years were also competing, we assumed that they’ll hold the title. But we were very shocked, surprised, full of joy and almost all emotions possible! We won! We’re entitled as champions. We cried, hugged together, prayed and shook hands with our competitors. The best thing about that is we also represented our school and competed in the Regional contest for Speech Choir held at Emilio Aguinaldo College, where in 20 different high schools in NCR were to beat. Surprisingly, we achieved in being 2nd place. It was very fulfilling knowing that we did our best, worked together as a team and had never forgotten to call Him for guidance, strength, help and camaraderie with each and every one of us.

So, what I can suggest to everybody is to live everyday with faith. God is always with us, we must make him feel that we know that He is there. Not only to the times that we are in need, talk to Him as if He is just a friend. And of course, take your experiences as challenges which will make you stronger in facing the future. They say that “you are what you think”. Live a life full of positive vibes and success will come your way.  Experience is the teacher of all things. These experiences will truly help oneself. There’s no such thing as a waste of time if you’ll use your experiences wisely. You may not be able to go back on what you have done, but you can always use your failures as a motivation and a guide in facing the future. Believe and you will attain anything you want to be. You will never know unless you try.

THIS ESSAY I MADE WAS FROM THE ACET APPLICATION FORM, SINCE I STAYED UP LATE JUST TO FINISH THIS, I WANT TO SHARE IT WITH EVERYBODY. :)

Another Chance, Maybe?

I've had many second, third chances already. But I don't know with myself, whenever I own a gadget, it doesn't last for like at least 2 years or so, and I'm very, I mean very much frustrated with that. It's not that i'm careless. I think, it's also because, I've been very open in lending it to everybody, and when it breaks, i'll be the one being punished and put blame to. Who else, right? No one but yourself. Because it is your valuable, so it's your responsibility. But this, very pleasure phone of mine, HTC One X, a hand-me-down phone from my father, I was very happy when he gave this to me. I treasure it a lot and I love it because I can take HD pictures and play variety of games. Of course, perks of having a smartphone. But then, there came a time, July 6, It was a fine Saturday when we had our practice. I got my phone off my bag when it was our break already and when I open my phone, It seemed like my water from my jog got inside the phone. It became dark... until I came home, it got darker. Almost nothing can be seen already. I was disappointed with myself. So I searched Google for ways to remove the water then I followed it. Until now, I'm not opening it yet. I hope when the time comes that i'll be opening it again.. maybe a day or two, It will be okay already. I just really hope...

Can I do all of these at once?

So much things to do, yet so little time. That's what I always say when I really feel like giving up already. But on the other hand, I believe, I would do all of these. I don't know, what pushed me to do something unusual. I think, I poured a lot already especially now. But i'm looking at the sanguine part of my situation. I know, someday, it will bear fruit. I just need to hold on, and keep myself inspired and be optimistic and most especially, keep myself focus. I WILL DO THIS. I hope nothing would hinder me from showing my capabilities and strength. I just need guidance, that's all. I hope You won't get tired of me. Because I need you, especially at this time. Thank You.

The MHCC Experience

What is MHCC? What do you do there and what is its significance to myself? Well MHCC stands for Mary Help of Christians Crusade. It is an org at our school which aims to keep yourself close to Mary and Christ. I don't know, I've already spent almost 4 years in high school and just know that i've thought of joining this. Some of my classmates even got surprised when they found out that i'll get into this. They thought, "Ah, she just wanna get some extra points in her extra curricular activities." or what we often say at our room, "AYY. Ang *GC mo talaga e,no!" But no, It's not that. Something pushed me. I think maybe because for me to be able to reflect w/ all my wrong doings and instead face the future w/ a much positive vibe and prevent myself to lessen my bad habits.

Well, we already had 2 meetings, and we spend almost an hour every Wednesday for MHCC. We do a lot of fun activities, pray the rosary and of course, we tackle a little something about God's Word. You know, it really is a fun experience when you join here. Not only you have new-found friends, but also your communication w/ Christ and Mary as well becomes stronger. And that's what I like about MH. I know that this is just the start and I can't wait for the following days to come. I'm proud to say that i'm an MHCC Member and I LOVE GOD!

Father's Day appreciation post.

"There is no sport equal to that w/c aviators enjoy while being carried through the air on great white wings." (c) happy father's day to the best man in my life. ♥ My fatherpearls. The best flight i've been through is when i'm always w/ you! we love you and we're thankful to have you. You will always be my idol. ♥ Happy father's day daddy Caloy Alves!!

My guardian, protector and my father. <3 I don't know why but when I always talk about him, i get teary-eyed. I think i'm just overwhelmed w/ the love he has given me. And now he's a bit old already, I guess this is the time where I show how much I love him. Hi dad, happy father's day! I know i'm not vocal but I really love you so much. That's why i'm daddy's girl, right? I'm just truly sorry for not making time to have long talks to you and don't make lambing (sometimes) anymore to you due to my very busy schedule at school.  But that's what they say, if you truly love a person, you'll still make time for them despite your very busy schedule. That's why i still make sure that we get to see each other and make each other laugh even just for a short time per day. From now on, I promise myself that you'll feel that i'm always by your side. I'm your sidekick right? And you're my superman. <3 Especially with you having your work at Zambales and only go home 4 days every 2 weeks, i know you get homesick there that's why i'll try my best to be your clown when you get home! I love you very much and i'm already crying while i'm typing this. I just really love you. I hope and I always pray to God to keep you healthy and keep you away from danger. Thanks for still working hard for us even though you're already retired. What i really love about you is that you never complain, you're very wise and you'll really do everything just for us. THAT's MY DAD. Hoping that you'll enjoy your stay here and I'll make sure we'll have a bunch of quality time for the rest of the days.

I would also like to greet our Savior a happy Father's day! I love you Papa Jesus. You became my everything and i'm nothing w/o You. You're one of the reasons why I strive hard and do my very best in everything.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL FATHERS OUT THERE AS WELL!

Life on being a Senior High Student.

4th Year High School. The so-called "Senior High". Yes, I belong to that batch already. We're known for being the role models and freshmen tend to get a bit scared at us for we are the upper class batch.
So how was it for me? Since my school has a Special Science Curriculum, we have additional subjects and VERY advanced lessons. (not to brag, literally speaking) So as expected, we work and study hard, we always have a bunch of assignments per day, reporting, research, name it. We're like doing everything already all at once. But even though it's hard and we only have like an average of 3 hours of sleep per day, it serves as a challenge for us and also an advantage since it's like we're getting used to it already and they're preparing us for the future. We all know college's much tougher than high school right? Still, I'm thankful because I belong to this class. Throughout my high school life, I can say that 4th Year will be the best. I know it's just starting but I can feel it. Despite all of our loaded works, I'm loving the line-up of teachers they put us in. They're responsible and they really explain what's written on the board. That's what I like on a teacher. Especially on major subjects, I really hate teachers who don't explain anything at all. It's their duty so they must do it. That's why teachers who explain the lesson step-by-step and is very vocal to us if we understand that lesson and don't get mad when they get corrected by the students is a thumbs-up for me! It gives me motivation to do my work properly and I really study on how it became like this or like that. They're one of the reasons behind it.
Till here, I still have a lot of journey to wander through in my 4th Year life. I hope and I pray that everything will go well. Thank you for reading!
